PVA Bass Tour is cut out of the PVA Sports Programs
Well, As of 1st of the year (2006) the PVA Bass Tour as most of the anglers who participated in it, will no longer
exist as a Disabled, B.A.S.S. sanctioned event with the right for 1 angler to participate ( PVA Grand National Champion)
in the National Bass Federation Championships. That will no longer be a goal of all who participted.
I have read there will still be tournaments put on by PVA chapters and the will have a points leader at the end of the
year, but that is the end of it.
I can't speak for anyone but myself but I do know I cannot afford to drive a average of 2000 miles round trip only to
have a chance to win my trip cost back.
I have also read that PVA has teamed with the NHRA (National Hot Rod Association) to get more exposure for the PVA
but at the same time they told Corporate Sponsors (Berkley,MinnKota and others) involved with the PVA Bass Tour they
no longer needed thier money. They also eliminated the hour of video that had the oppurtunity to reach millions of households
through-out the world that aired on the Outdoor Life Network each year.
What really keeps me away from the tour now is the fool that stated Disabled Anglers have no business fishing the National
B.A.S.S. Federation Championships. Everything I do is to strive to be a part of the real world and to accomplish that - To
the best of my ability, So what if it takes a few minutes longer to get that accomplshed.
The whole ordeal doesn't make any sense at all to me.
