I was born on September 22nd, 1956 - Austin, Texas. I was raised in Victoria , Tx till the age of 11 -
where I use to hunt, fish and attend school. I owned a 22rifle at the age of 5 and a .410 shotgun att the age of 7. If hunting
or fishing were in the plans for the day - there was no need to set a alarm - I would be up and ready! First sizable
fish I had caught was a 2 1/2lb bass at the end of the Dupont Channel before it was changed to saltwater. I also spent
plenty of time at the Optimist Ponds located in Riverside Park - to which many a bass and catfish came out of.
At the age of 11 moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where I attended the rest of Junior High and High School. Graduated from Oak
Hills High at the age of 17 - then enlisted in the U.S. Navy on November 28th, 1974.
Served 4 years in and was finished with my enlistment on the same date - 1978. Once back into civilian life I went to
work as Welder in Cincinnati and then moved to Houston, Tx in the year 1980 and went to work as a Carpenters
helper on Commercial high rises. Once in the field I quickly learned Carpentry and then how to be a Field Engineer.
By 1984 I was 2nd in charge(Assistant Superintendant) and by 1988 I ran my first jobs as Superintendant.
In 1990 I moved back to Cincinnati and couldn't take not working 5 months out of the year so I moved indoors and
ran the night shift at a restaurant till 1995.
That year on May 30th, 1995 I fell and did a compression fracture of the L-1 vertebrea and the disc above and below.
By the way thats the same day Christopher Reeves ended up a Quadrapledgic!
So things being what they are - I have to tried to make the best of a bad situation and do the things
I enjoy the best and thats where Bass fishing comes into play.
This is my first full year of Local club tourneys and hopefully the same goes for the PVA/B.A.S.S. tournaments too! As
long as my health holds out I will continue to try to inprove in this field. So far this year the bass have been kind
to me and hopefully in the years to come.
